Yesterday we learned that people who can get pregnant are not safe in this country as our most basic right to privacy and bodily autonomy are threatened in the highest court in the land. Amid rampant anti-trans legislation across the country, overturning Roe poses a continued threat to the lives of this country’s most marginalized, and we can expect Oklahoma to impose some of the most restrictive rulings on the lives and bodies of those in our state. This is frustrating, devastating, and sickening. But, we must remember that there is still time, and we cannot give in to despair. There are amazing people fighting tooth and nail to safeguard safe abortion access regardless of legal ruling. We stand in solidarity with you and we will fight alongside you when the time comes.
Roe has not been overturned yet. Abortion is still legal in the United States, and Oklahoma’s trigger laws have not been enacted. If you need care now, please seek it.
We stand with you, and we will weather this storm. Together.
Resources:
Each year, the Roe Fund provides direct financial help to Oklahoma women seeking abortion services. We are the only organization in the state helping women and their families access the reproductive healthcare they need. We work with abortion clinics in our region to help pay for the procedures and also have volunteers who support the women through our Peaceful Presence.
Oklahoma’s abortion laws are among the nation’s most restrictive, so the Roe Fund plays a critical role in helping women access abortion care. With only a few clinics in the state, women often are required to travel long distances to receive care.
A clinic in Wichita and Oklahoma City, Trust Women has a mission to open clinics that provide abortion care in underserved communities so that all women can make their own decisions about their health care. All women will have access to health care, including abortions, regardless of where they live or their ability to pay.
Tulsa Women's Clinic offers the lowest abortion fees in Tulsa plus helps you get funding to pay the cost.
The National Network of Abortion Funds builds power with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice.
